Cat Adoption Policy

It is the policy of Desert Paws Rescue (“DPR”) that all potential Cat/Kitten adopters complete a Cat Adoption Consultation Form and an interview with a Desert Paws representative in order to be considered as a forever home for our cats and kittens. DPR does not accept Cat Adoption Consultation Forms for Cat(s)/Kitten(s) that have not yet been altered or keep “waiting lists” for Cat(s)/Kitten(s) that have not yet been altered. Fosters (short or long-term) may not promise or guarantee the adoption of the Desert Paws Cat(s)/Kitten(s) in their care to any individual. Completion of the application and interview process does not guarantee an adoption approval or guarantee the adoption of a particular Cat/Kitten.

DPR will determine the best home for each Cat/Kitten based on the application and interview process. After review of the adoption consultation form and the completion of the interview with a Desert Paws representative DPR may recommend a different Cat/Kitten that is more suitable to your household.

DPR is a privately run, all volunteer, non-profit organization and reserves the right to refuse any adoption that is not in the best interest of the cat or kitten, based on our principles, policies, and standards.
