Description:

Nine-year-old Lynnae came to Desert Paws Rescue in 2012, when she was about 3 years old.  She had been TNR'ed at an apartment complex when she was a kitten, and one of the tenants brought her inside and kept her as her own pet.  About 2 years later that person moved and left her behind.  She was friendly but timid, especially after some of the resident children were caught chasing and throwing rocks at her.  Another resident coaxed her onto her patio and gave her shelter and food so she would stay where it was safe.  (Due to extreme health reasons, she could not bring her inside.)  When the apartment complex got a new manager, who threatened to evict anyone who fed the outside cats, she begged Desert Paws to take Lynnae hoping she would adjust to indoor life again and become adoptable.

Lynnae has been in her foster home for over 6 years.  It took a while, but she once again became friendly and approachable.  She likes to be brushed and pet, but does not like to be picked up or carried.  She is happiest perched on the cat condo when the sun is shining on it, or hanging out with the resident dog.  She’s had 2 major dental procedures, including the removal of all of her teeth behind the canines, but is otherwise in good health.  She’s very well-behaved and easy to have around.  She’s quite content in her foster home…it would take her a long time to adjust to a new home and we don’t want to add any stress to her life.  But that’s not to say we wouldn’t entertain the idea if the right home came along!  We realize that very few people are willing to adopt a kitty like Lynnae, so she is welcome to stay in her foster home for the rest of her life if that’s the way it has to be.
