Bixby came to Desert Paws from the Arizona Humane Society in January of 2018. Bixby had a severe case of Herpes at a very young age, which resulted in the removal of both of his eyes. His lack of vision doesn't slow him down much, but it does make him a bit unsure of new sounds and smells. Bixby gets along great with his other four-legged sanctuary friends, but can be insecure about being handled by the two-legged variety, and when he feels insecure he tends to bite. This is not typically a trait that a potential adopter is looking for, and so we have happily accepted him as a permanent member of the Desert Paws Rescue team, and a Sanctuary Resident. Bixby is an otherwise happy and healthy guy, and we are glad to give him a peaceful and safe place to live out his years!
