Lena - Special Needs FIV+
Lena is a beautiful purebred Chocolate Point Siamese.  Her original owner passed away and when her children came to move her things out of the house, they put Lena outside and never returned for her. Abandoned, alone, and heartbroken at the loss of her owner she turned to the neighbors for food and eventually ended up with Desert Paws Rescue.  She is a very affectionate cat.  She is very mellow and calm and wants nothing more than a comfy place to sleep and to cuddle with you.  She tested positive for FIV (feline immune virus) which means she needs to be an only cat or in a home with other FIV positive cats.  She has already been spayed, has tested negative for FELV (feline leukemia) and positive for FIV (feline immune virus), has an identification micro-chip, and is current on her vaccinations.  If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out the cat consultation form (on the website www.desertpawsrescue.org) or email hadleyd@cox.net.

Lele-ADOPTED
My name is Lele, I am a beautiful diva and behave as such. Which is not to say that I am not a sweet girl. I am a lover, but mostly on my own terms. I am litter box trained and love to lay in the sunshine most of the day. I just love treats and will even stand on my hind legs for them. I am not skittish but mostly like to approach people when I am ready. I play with the little doxie that I am living with now and tolerate the other kitty that I am living with, but she is kind of an old lady and doesn't really like to play with me. I just love to eat, so my humans have to monitor the amount of food I get each day, otherwise I will eat everything that is in the bowl. My current humans do love me, but one of them is developing serious allergies to my luxurious and beautiful fur so they need to find me a forever home that I can lounge in and be loved everyday! If you are interested in me, please email cats@desertpawsrescue.org for more information.

Lauryn
Lauryn is about 2 years old and came to Desert Paws Rescue less than 48 hours before she gave birth to 6 beautiful kittens (Lacey, Landon, Lani, Liam, Libby and Lilly).  She’s such a pretty dilute calico with cute freckles on her face.  She’s an excellent, doting mother, but now it’s her turn to be pampered and taken care of…forever!  Lauryn is a very sweet, friendly cat.  She gets along with other cats in her foster home and had no reaction to seeing the cat-friendly dogs, but has not yet met them up close.  Lauryn enjoys being held and will sit (and roll) in your lap forever…she loves the attention!  She can be playful too – occasionally she bats a ball around with one of her kittens, but mostly just stays close and keeps an eye on them.  She’s very trusting and doesn’t mind when her kittens are picked up or handled.  Lauryn will make a perfect addition to a lucky family.  Lauryn has already been spayed, has tested negative for FELV and FIV (feline immune virus), has an identification micro-chip, and is current on her vaccinations.  If you are interested in giving Lauryn her forever home, please fill out the cat consultation form (on the website www.desertpawsrescue.org) or email hadleyd@cox.net.

Latte-ADOPTED
Latte is a cute 10 week old, playful, outgoing, energetic kitten.  He is neutered, vaccinated, tested for feline leukemia/FIV, and microchipped.  He will be ready for adoption the middle of June.

Lani
Lani is a beautiful solid gray Russian Blue mix kitten, born on July 25th.  She may have medium-length fur when she is grown.  She’s from a litter of 6 and is very playful, maybe because there’s always a sibling to play with!  She doesn’t mind being held and pet, and will sit on your lap and let you clip her nails, but she’s not a super snuggly kitten – yet.  That will change as she gets older and isn’t as interested in playing every moment she’s awake.  Her mom (Lauryn) is very friendly and loving, so Lani has the proper background.  Lani is a great climber on the cat tree and loves to hide in the cube, ready to attack any kitten that happens by.  Her favorite toys seem to be the ones she can chase – balls with bells in them and an empty thread spool.  She consistently uses the cardboard, sisal rope, and carpeted cat scratchers available to her.  She’s been very good about using the litter box since she was 4 weeks old.  Lani would love to be adopted with another kitten.  Her first choice would be one of her siblings:  Lacey or Liam.  Lani has already been spayed, has tested negative for FELV and FIV (feline immune virus), has an identification micro-chip, and is current on her vaccinations.  If you are interested in giving Lani her forever home, please fill out the cat consultation form (on the website www.desertpawsrescue.org) or email hadleyd@cox.net.

Landon

Landon is a handsome white kitten with orange tabby markings, born 7/25/10.  He is very personable, loves to be held, and purrs like crazy.  He's a happy kitty, even though sometimes his face looks so sad.  He’s very playful, of course, like a typical kitten.  He and his littermates play well together, then take rest breaks, gearing up for their next session.  They are so much fun to watch!  Landon is also friends with the resident cat-friendly dogs and sometimes snuggles with them.  He also likes the company of the grown cats at his foster home and goes to them for a little mothering.  Landon has been trained to use to all kinds of scratchers – carpeted cat tree, turbo cardboard scratcher and sisal rope post – and is very good about using them.  He’s trustworthy having access to the entire house – he always uses the litter box.  Landon has already been neutered, has tested negative for FELV and FIV (feline immune virus), has an identification micro-chip, and is current on his vaccinations.  If you are interested in giving Landon his forever home, please fill out the cat consultation form (on the website www.desertpawsrescue.org) or email hadleyd@cox.net.

Lando

Lando Calrissian (named after a charactor on Star Wars) is a sweet, shy 1-1/2 year old black DLH. He was caught as a kitten when a gentleman was doing trap fix and release of feral cats. He was fixed and unfortunately his ear clipped in case he was returned to the outdoors.  Thankfully, he was kept and socialized.
Lando is still skittish when you move fast toward him or try and pick him up. But when you do pick him up, he hugs on to you and starts purring. He will come to you and jump in your lap and lay there content with being petted. Lando loves to play with wand teasers and crazy ball circles. He gets along fine with kittens but not with adult cats. He is ok with dogs, even trying to rub up on them and sleep with them if they allow.
Lando is getting used to having his nails clipped and being brushed but is still squirmy. He needs weekly brushing for his luxurious, shiny fur. He is a big baby with the longest tail, but not fat.
He has been neutered, is up-to-date on shots and found negative for FIV and FELV.
Lando just needs love and patience to bring out more of his sweet soul. If you are interested in adopting Lando, please fill out the cat consultation form (on the website www.desertpawsrescue.org) or email hadleyd@cox.ne
