Nick the 3-Legged Kitten
Nick is an all-black tabby kitten with only three legs.  He was born in September, 2010 and when he was about three months old he was hit by car.  His right front leg was badly damaged.  Unfortunately, the woman who owned him couldn’t afford to take him to the vet and so his leg was left to mend on its own.  When he was about six months only he was abandoned at a veterinary clinic where they evaluated his condition and decided his leg needed to be amputated.
He eventually made his way to Desert Paws Rescue where we recognized immediately that Nick is an extraordinary cat.  He has completely adjusted to life with only three legs.  He runs and plays like any other kitten and doesn’t let his handicap slow him down one bit.  Nick is very affectionate, loves to snuggle and gets along well with other cats.  He has already been neutered, has tested negative for FELV and FIV (feline immune virus), has an identification micro-chip, and is current on his vaccinations.  If you are interested in giving Nick his forever home, please fill out the cat consultation form (on the website www.desertpawsrescue.org) or email hadleyd@cox.net.

Naya
Naya is a very sleek and pretty female torbie (tabby & tortoiseshell) kitten with a cute orange spot in the middle of her forehead.  She was born about March 1, 2011.  Although she was found as a stray in a church parking lot, she was in good health, well-fed, and clean, so she couldn’t have been out there very long.  It’s obvious she was someone’s pet – she’s very friendly and outgoing, and she had fancy pink glittered Soft Paws on her nails.  Once she was combo tested and settled in at her foster home, she met the other cats and kittens.  It took her a day or two to get to know them and then she decided its great fun to have playmates.  She even warmed up to the 3 large cat-friendly dogs very quickly.  Now Naya spends her days frolicking with her new buddies and sleeping on her foster mom’s desk while she works from home.  She is very well-behaved regarding the litter box, scratching on appropriate surfaces (cardboard scratchers, sisal rope & carpeted cat tree) and even sits still when getting her nails clipped.  She’s a loving little kitty that will be great company for her new family.  She has already been spayed, has tested negative for FELV and FIV (feline immune virus), has an identification micro-chip, and is current on her vaccinations.  If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out the cat consultation form (on the website www.desertpawsrescue.org) or email hadleyd@cox.net.

Nathan
Nathan is a very handsome flame point Siamese kitten with adorable blue eyes.  He has very muted orange color around his ears and orange rings on his tail that will probably darken a bit as he gets a little older.  He’s very playful and likes all kinds of toys.  He will go into “full speed” play mode and then come up and crash on your lap.  He is very affectionate and he loves to be held.  His purr motor starts them minute he is picked up.  He gets along well with other cats.  Nathan has already been neutered, has tested negative for FELV (feline leukemia) and FIV (feline immune virus), has an identification micro-chip, and is current on his vaccinations.  His adoption fee is $130.  If you are interested in giving Nathan his forever home, please fill out the cat consultation form (on the website www.desertpawsrescue.org) or email hadleyd@cox.net.

Nanette
Nanette is a darling, petite, short-haired Russian Blue-mix kitten that always has an inquisitive look on her face.  She was born in mid June.  She is very playful and loves to climb (and sleep on) the carpeted cat tree – whether she’s being chased, or chasing a littermate, or just playing by herself.  She enjoys all kinds of toys, and even the packages they come in!  She’s used to all kinds of scratchers – cardboard, sisal rope, and carpet and uses them regularly.  She doesn’t mind getting her nails clipped and is great about using the litter box, even when she has access to the whole house.  She’s a sweet little kitten that will make her new family very happy.  She would love to be adopted with another kitten – especially one of her littermates:  Niles, Nimbus, Noelle, Norris or Norton.  There is nothing more entertaining than watching a couple of kittens play!
