Pet of the Week: No

This adorable boy’s name is Little D (short for Little Dog)! We saved Little D from the county shelter where they were about to put him down because he was fearful. Heck, wouldn’t anyone be scared in that place! We are so happy we saved Little D, as he’s so happy and a really nice boy! He is one year old and we believe he is an Italian Greyhound and Rat Terrier mix. He has the body of an Italian Greyhound, but the face of a Rat Terrier and really a personality of the two! Either way – we think he’s just as cute as can be! Little D is a very small guy and probably only weighs about 7 pounds or so. He is a bit on the thin side, so the extra eating he is doing now is good – but he certainly won’t grow much at all.

Little D is good with other dogs and would love to have another doggie sister or brother to play with. We are not sure how he would be around kitties. Little D is in general a very quiet boy during the day and all night. He does though bark at people outside the gate and will let you know when they are there. Little D overall is on the shy side and takes a little while to warm up to some new people. He appears to be frightened of quick movements to pick him up………….it may be he had been grabbed roughly in the past. For this reason, he may not be best with younger children. Little D is very loving, really aims to please and listens well to what you want! He loves to be held, petted, sit in your lap, join you on the couch or in bed (if you would like) and give you really tiny kisses! He is housetrained with a doggie-door (with only a couple accidents with the rainy days) and is very good in the house. Little D is going to make a great addition to fun and loving home. Little D will be available for adoption soon. If you are interested in Little D, please email his foster mom at azdesertdogz@cox.net.
